The Carlisle Weekly is a newspaper that was developed in the early 90's with the hope to bring the people of Carlisle County a paper that is truly a newspaper that serves the community. With its low advertising rates and a focus for news that only pertains to Carlisle County The Carlisle Weekly prides itself on being a paper that serves the community and helps area businesses and organizations to grow.
The Carlisle Weekly is currently in the process of making some exciting changes. As of September 1st 2006 Carlisle County native Michael Toon will take over as Publisher/Owner of the Carlisle Weekly Newspaper. Michael is a 1998 graduate of Carlisle County High School and a 2004 graduate of Murray State University where he majored in Public Relations and minored in Marketing. Michael is a Carlisle Countian through and through and he has never thought of living anywhere but Carlisle County his whole life.
He sees the Carlisle Weekly as a way not only for himself to live in Carlisle County the rest of his life but as a way to strengthen the county he loves so dearly. The offices of the Carlisle Weekly can be found in Bardwell, Kentucky on Highway 51 in between the Dollar General Store and The Hut. Business hours differ due to the fact that there are times when Michael has to cover stories and attend meetings. However, you will mainly find the office to be open from 9 to 4 Monday through Friday. Stop by and visit.
A newspaper that serves the community is needed in Carlisle County and it is Michael Toon's goal to make the Carlisle Weekly the paper that businesses, organizations, and most importantly, the people of Carlisle County depend on everyweek for the latest news in Carlisle County
The Carlisle Weekly is the official paper of record in Carlisle County and is published every week on Wednesdays. The deadline for all news and advertisements is Friday by noon.
